  • Where can I purchase Try-Me Coffee?

    The only way to get Try-Me Coffee is by ordering from our community roaster or visiting one of the coffee shops or restaurants we roast for. For years, folks would come to our Bywater door to order their coffee beans in person. Now, you can order online, and we ship nationwide. We stay true to our small business roots: no mass production, no grocery store shelves, just coffee through our community.

  • What does roast-to-order mean?

    At Try-Me Coffee, your coffee isn’t sitting on a shelf—it’s roasted just for you. Once you place your order, we will roast your coffee within 24 business hours or less, often ready the same day if you order in the morning. To purchase a bag of Try-Me Coffee, please order online.

  • How is your coffee so affordable for such exceptional quality?

    Our coffee is priced between $10-$14 per pound for personal orders, which is an incredible value for our quality and craftsmanship. You would typically pay much more at the grocery store for mass-produced coffee sold in bags less than a full pound. So how do we do it? As a heritage roaster with 100 years of experience, we’ve maintained high-quality equipment that helps keep our operating costs low. But it’s also a deliberate choice. As a wholesale roaster, we want to keep smaller orders affordable for our community. It’s a commitment to making great coffee accessible to everyone we serve.

  • How soon can I get my coffee if I'm ordering for personal use?

    Orders are roasted within 24 business hours or less, with morning orders often ready the same day. If you choose local pick-up, we will email you as soon as your coffee is ready. For local delivery, we aim to bring it to you within 1-2 business days after roasting. For shipping, delivery usually takes 1-7 days depending on your location. We'll send you an email confirmation once your order is processed, so you’ll always know what's happening with your coffee

  • How much does delivery cost for personal orders?

    We offer different options to ensure affordability.

    • Complimentary Local Delivery
      To Our Neighbors: We offer free daily delivery (M-F) on all orders to 70117 & 70032 zip codes. Simply enter your address at checkout, and the free delivery option will appear.
      Throughout New Orleans & Metairie: To celebrate our 100th anniversary, enjoy FREE local delivery on all orders through Dec 31, 2025. We deliver on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Simply enter your address at checkout to confirm eligibility or check our delivery route here.
    • Affordable Shipping.
      We calculate the lowest shipping rates at checkout to ensure fair pricing without markup.

  • Can you tell me what the grind options mean?

    We offer the following grind options:

    • Whole Bean: Best for those who prefer to grind fresh at home.
    • Drip Grind: A medium grind, ideal for traditional drip coffee makers.
    • Coarse Grind: Perfect for French press or cold brew.

    We also offer various other grind types and are happy to accommodate specific requests. Simply leave a note in the shopping cart section.

  • Do you offer Try-Me Coffee gift cards?

    Yes! You can purchase a gift card here. All gift cards are sent by email for quick and easy delivery. If you'd like to email it directly to someone, just check "I want to send this as a gift," add a message, and schedule the email delivery date. You'll also get a receipt for your records.   • Do you offer wholesale ordering?

    Certainly. We are first and foremost a wholesale coffee roaster. With 100 years of experience, we proudly supply delicious coffee to restaurants, coffee shops, and businesses that resell coffee. For further details, please reach out via our contact form or via phone at 504-945-4314.

  • How do I submit a special request for my coffee beans?

    To add a request, go to the cart section in the top right corner, and you’ll find a special requests section at the bottom. Kindly note, once you move to the checkout screen, the special requests section will no longer be visible, so please add your request while in the cart.

  • Can I change or cancel my order after it's been placed?

    At Try-Me Coffee, we take pride in our roast-to-order service. Once your order is submitted, the roasting begins, and we are unable to cancel or modify the order.

  • Do you accept returns?

    Because we roast your beans to order, we regretfully cannot accept returns. We understand that discovering your ideal coffee flavor is a journey, and we will be offering a Coffee Discovery Box soon.

  • Are you a coffee shop?

    We are a coffee roaster, but not a coffee shop. For 100 years, we have roasted coffee for iconic restaurants and coffee shops in New Orleans and beyond. We would be delighted to recommend a place where you can enjoy a cup of Try-Me Coffee. Just fill out our contact form with your location, and we will provide a recommendation.
