Roasting coffee in the Bywater of New Orleans since 1925.
In 1925, bank teller Henry Kepler roasted his first batch of coffee beans in the Bywater of New Orleans.
He went door-to-door with a coffee pot in-hand asking neighbors to “Try my coffee.”
And so Try-Me Coffee was born.
99 years later, Try-Me still roasts in our original location at 1014 France Street, ingrained in the same community Henry introduced our coffee to a century ago.

Try-Me Coffee has always been a family and community-driven business in New Orleans.
Our dedicated production team, Jerico and Mr. Willie, have been with us for over 60 years combined, ensuring that every batch of beans we roast is exceptional.
In 2023, Abby and Lauren “Mermaid” took to the reigns of Try-Me from the the Kepler/Lutz family who had nurtured Try-Me for three generations. Their goal is to keep the Try-Me tradition alive for generations to come.
