So much care goes into every pound of coffee we hand-roast for you. We believe you can taste it, but witnessing it firsthand is amazing.
That’s why we were honored to welcome reporter Alana Schreiber from Louisiana Considered on WWNO 89.9 FM who shared this experience.
Her story captures the sounds of her own pound of Try-Me Coffee being roasted—the swirl of the beans, the crack of the roast, the appetizing pour of a hot cup.
One of the most remarkable things about Try-Me Coffee is that our beans have been hand-roasted for 100 years on the original machines from that era.
The process is not automated—our roasting staff relies on all five senses to guide each batch by hand.
They learned the craft from the generation of master roasters before them, a tradition passed down from person to person through the New Orleans community.
As we celebrate 100 years of roasting in the Bywater we hope this gives you a glimpse, or a sound, of what it’s like.
